DescriptionThe original of this wallpaper is from a sea captain's house, built in 1761 by Captain Richard Trask, in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. This house is now occupied by the Manchester Historical Society. During restoration, fragments of this paper were found on wide pine wall boards beneath many layer of paper. The pattern is a particularly fine example of late 18th century florals in decoration.
