DescriptionThis scenic pattern was taken from the one hundred and fifty year old home of Mrs. Frank Cone in Windsor, Vermont. The French origin of the wallpaper was probably about 1810-1840 when Joseph DuFour and Jean Zuber popularized scenic wallpapers. The subject matter of their designs would usually fall into one of four classifications: historical occasions, such as famous battles; subjects of literature; mythological subjects; and renowned cities of Europe. Here is Lucerne with a background of the Swiss Alps.
